GPS positioning

Didactum IT monitoring systems equipped with an internal LTE module support GPS location information. This provides you with precise information about the exact location of the LAN-based measurement and monitoring system. The GPS data is updated every 15 seconds in the IT monitoring system. Optional GPS time synchronization occurs hourly.

The following measurement and monitoring devices can be equipped with the LTE modem:

  • Monitoring System 100 III, 100 IV, 100T
  • Monitoring System 300, 300 DC
  • Monitoring System 500 II, 500 II DC

Please ensure that the LTE modem has a suitable LTE antenna. Furthermore, the SIM card must be inserted in the LTE modem and connected to the GSM network.

GPS positioning in the monitoring system

The GPS settings and information for IT monitoring systems equipped with an internal LTE modem can be found in the "System Settings" menu under the "GPS" tab.

The following options are displayed under the "GPS" tab:

  • Activate GPS: This function allows you to activate or deactivate the GPS function.
  • GPS Status: Information about the connection status, including time and date display.
  • GPS Coordinates: GPS position data, including latitude and longitude.
  • GPS Time Synchronization: Optional time synchronization via the GPS signal.

Notes:

If your IT monitoring system does not have an LTE modem, the message "No hardware support" will be displayed. Please ensure that the correct time zone is defined in the IT monitoring system under "System Settings" => "Time".
