Connecting the IP sensor to the monitoring system
The airflow sensor measures and monitors the airflow velocity generated by ventilation, air conditioning, and fan systems. This sensor can precisely measure air velocity in the range of 0–3 m/s.
This airflow sensor is compatible with all current monitoring systems from the manufacturer Didactum.
Instructions for IP temperature sensor for temperature measurement
Connect the sensor unit to the airflow measurement unit using the included connector. Then connect the sensor unit to the included RJ11/RJ12 telephone cable.
Simply plug the other end of the RJ11/RJ12 patch cable into a free sensor port on your IP-based monitoring system. The sensor unit and measurement unit will then be automatically detected by the measuring device via auto-identification and displayed in the German-language web interface.
Airflow sensor calibration
Each airflow sensor is factory calibrated before delivery. You can recalibrate the sensor if desired. Use a Phillips screwdriver for this.
Installation of the sensor in the 19-inch server rack
The SNMP-compatible airflow sensor comes with a mounting bracket. Using wire cutters and pliers (not included), you can cut and bend the bracket to your specific requirements.
Editor's note:
Wear suitable work gloves when cutting the sensor bracket, as sharp edges can be created when using wire cutters.
Double-sided mounting tape is also included.
Alternatively, you can attach the measuring unit for air velocity measurement directly to the bracket.
There are many options for flexible sensor installation.
Mounting the airflow sensor
The sheet metal thickness of the sensor mounting bracket is approximately 0.8 millimeters. The illustration below shows a few installation options.
