Timer functions

With the timer function, you can schedule events. For example, you can specify when the Didactum motion detector or the Didactum security sensor should not trigger an alarm. This can be useful, for instance, during regular working hours (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm).

To create a timer function in your Didactum monitoring system, go to "Main Menu" >> "Group Tree" and click the "+" symbol at the top.

Then select the "Timer" function.

Under "Period of operation," you can specify whether the timer function should run once or weekly.

You can also specify the desired days of the week. Enter the start time under "Start time" and the end time under "End time."

Didactum practical example

A door lock is connected to the first 12V output of the networked Didactum Monitoring System 100.

This door lock opens when 12V is applied. If no 12V is applied, the employee entrance door is locked.

The customer requests that the employee entrance door open automatically according to the following schedule:

Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Outside of these hours, the door must remain locked. Additionally, the customer requests that an SMS be sent to the building manager upon motion detection outside of these hours. This ensures that employees can leave the building through the employee entrance even outside of regular working hours.

We will now create two timer rules in the German-language web interface of the Didactum monitoring system:
