Sensor termination

If you are using multiple CAN combination sensors for smoke, temperature, and humidity, you must set the TR (transmission switch) to "OFF" for all sensors except the last one.

Image a) The last sensor in the CAN bus connection chain should have a termination switch in the "ON" position.

Image b) All other sensors should have a termination switch in the "OFF" position.

Konfiguration

In this example, we connect two CAN combination sensors for smoke, temperature, and humidity in series.

After connecting, the red configuration LEDs on the back of the sensors will light up.

After connecting the sensor to the CAN bus chain, go to the Didactum web interface >> menu item "CAN Configuration" >> click on "Configure" >> "Do you want to start the CAN configuration?" and confirm with "Yes". The following should then be displayed.

Once the sensors are configured, they will appear in the window. The blue configuration LED on the back of the sensors should light up.

You should see both sensors in the CAN configuration window.

CAN Combination Sensor for Smoke, Temperature & Humidity

CAN Combination Sensor for Smoke, Temperature & Humidity
The Didactum Combination Sensor for Smoke, Humidity, and Temperature (CAN) is a state-of-the-art CAN bus environmental sensor specially designed for demanding real-time monitoring of temperature, humidity, and smoke. Thanks to its high precision and reliability, this CANopen climate sensor is ideal for use in data centers, server rooms, industrial facilities, warehouses, and building management systems.

A key feature of this sensor is the ability to operate various CAN climate sensors together, such as the CAN air temperature sensor and the CAN relative humidity sensor. This allows you to build a comprehensive network for temperature and humidity measurement (CAN) that can be precisely tailored to your individual requirements. Integration into existing systems is particularly easy and reliable thanks to the standardized CAN interface.
