Ping function

With the ping function of the Didactum Monitoring System, you can monitor around the clock whether a host is reachable on your TCP/IP network. If the host in question is unreachable, the monitoring system can notify and alert you via SNMP, email, or SMS (via GSM or LTE modem or email-to-SMS gateway).

Many Didactum customers use the ping function to monitor whether their internet connection is still working.

To create a ping with your IP-based Didactum Monitoring System, please go to the web interface and select "System Tree" and click the "+" symbol at the top. Then, select the "Ping" function from the available options.

Editor's note:

Please note that the ping interval must be at least 5 seconds. If you receive a "Not able to update element data" message from the IT monitoring system, please change the ping time to at least 5 seconds!
