Installation instructions:

Install the device only after verifying the grounding of the rack!

Connect only sensors or components approved by Didactum!

The Didactum Monitoring Systems 500 / 500-DC can be installed in 19-inch wall-mounted, network, or server cabinets. The required mounting brackets are already included in the delivery of these IT monitoring systems. For the rack monitoring systems (RMS) of the 100 series, an optional rack-mount kit is available.

Please note that all units occupy one height unit (1U) in the IT rack.

Before installation, check whether your server cabinet is properly grounded. Use only original accessories and genuine Didactum sensors with your Didactum monitoring system. This is the only way to ensure the correct functioning of your Didactum monitoring device. Third-party sensors and accessories may impair the functionality of your Didactum monitoring system.

Furthermore, no support is provided for third-party products.

Ensure that the environmental conditions at the installation site are suitable. The maximum permissible ambient temperatures for the Didactum monitoring systems, expansion modules, and sensors can be found in the “Technical Data” section.

The Didactum Monitoring Systems 500 and 500-DC feature a built-in sensor for monitoring the internal temperature of the housing. Make sure to use this sensor! Please ensure adequate air circulation around the Didactum devices.

Assembly

If you intend to install the device in a rack, please ensure that it is not subjected to uneven mechanical stress. Do not simply hang or strap the device into the rack.

Power cable and network cable connection

Before turning on the device, please check your electrical circuit to avoid overloading it.

Connect the included power cable. Then plug the power cord into a wall outlet and connect the Ethernet cable to the network switch.

Use only grounded electrical outlets.
