Jumper setting
Jumper settings for Didactum CAN units and CAN expansion units.
When using the CAN bus ports of the Didactum Monitoring Systems, the terminator on the main unit (TERM) must be set to "ON".
On the Didactum main units and CAN expansion units, you will find a two-position DIP switch labeled "TERM". As a general rule, the terminator jumper is always the one of the two switches closest to the CAN bus ports.
The last CAN bus device (CAN sensor or CAN unit) in the serial CAN bus chain must always be terminated. Therefore, set the terminator to "ON".
Before setting the terminator switch, the corresponding Didactum CAN bus device must always be disconnected from the power supply or cable connection.
By factory setting, the Didactum CAN units are not terminated (right-hand diagram).

The graphic below applies to the following Didactum CAN-Bus devices:
- Didactum Rack Monitoring Unit
- Didactum Sensor Expansion Unit
In the diagram on the right, switching the left DIP switch sets the termination to "On".
