The message "Not connected" describes the status of the RFID card placed at the key reader. For the key reader (item no. 14063) or card reader (item no. 14064) connected to the Didactum monitoring system, there are a total of three status messages.

Status 1: If no RFID card is placed at the key reader, the default setting is "Not connected."

Status 2: If a card is successfully recognized by the reader, the status changes to "Normal" and then back to "Not connected."

Status 3: If an RFID card is used that is not registered in the monitoring system or has been deactivated, the status changes from "Alarm" and then back to "Not connected."
 

Yes. Every Didactum measurement and control system supports SNMP GET functions. For the SNMP-compatible server rack lock, use the discrete SNMP GET query in the monitoring system's web interface. Enter the sensor OID (contained in the MIB) and the integer value "true" (1) for a closed server rack. The sensor will then be in its normal state when the lock is closed (read from SNMP value string 1). For an alarm state, enter the other value. Repeat this process for the door OID. Afterward, your SNMPv1/v2c/v3-compatible Didactum monitoring system will monitor the server rack's electronic lock.

Every Didactum monitoring system can be equipped with essential sensors for 24/7 room monitoring. Recommended for enhanced security include:

  • SNMP-compatible door contact sensor for monitoring windows and doors
  • SNMP-compatible infrared motion detector for detecting presence and movement
  • SNMP-compatible vibration sensor for reporting vibrations and forced entry
  • Infrared light barrier sensor for securing larger rooms and facilities
  • Infrared/microwave motion detector sensor
  • Glass break/vibration detector for securing windows, walls, and ceilings
  • AC current sensor for detecting power outages or fluctuations

In principle, every monitoring system should be protected against power outages by using a suitable uninterruptible power supply (UPS). An optional Li-ion battery pack is offered for the Premium Monitoring System 500 in the Didactum online shop for infrastructure security solutions. In the event of a power outage, this LAN-based measurement and control system is powered for approximately 4-5 hours.

All smart monitoring devices offer inputs for digital/potential-free switching contacts. You can connect the alarm contacts of your burglar alarm system to these inputs. Each alarm contact can be individually named in the web interface of the LAN-based monitoring system and linked to the required notifications and alarm messages (SNMP trap, syslog, SMS notification, email alarm, relay switching).

If your mobile phone number is authorized for SMS commands in the web interface of the monitoring system, you can remotely control your Didactum monitoring system with simple SMS commands. Simply send an SMS with the corresponding command to the Didactum monitoring system and, for example, open the electronic door lock connected to the relay output using your mobile phone/smartphone.

You can also remotely query sensors connected to the monitoring system, such as magnetic door contacts, via SMS command. The possibilities of the SMS command functions are very extensive. Every executed SMS command is, of course, acknowledged by the monitoring system via SMS.

Importing previously created device configurations to additional monitoring systems is supported. To do this, go to "System Menu" => "Firmware" in the German-language web interface and then select the path to your "backup.zor" configuration file. Please note that you must change the network address of your new monitoring system under "System Settings" => "Network".

The system settings of your networked Didactum measurement and control system are manually saved in the "System Menu" under the "Export" tab, in the "Export current settings" section, as a file named "backup.zor". The device configuration can also be saved at regular intervals if desired.

If you have administrator rights for the monitoring system, access control is possible via the web interface. Please note that any previously configured access control may need to be deactivated in the monitoring system's logic.

It is generally possible to connect up to two readers to a single Didactum measuring and control unit. Please use the 1-Wire splitter from our online shop for this purpose. Please note that the Didactum monitoring system treats both readers as a single reader. This is advantageous, for example, if one RFID reader is needed at the entrance and another RFID reader at the exit of the same door.

Check the web interface of the monitoring system online to see if the lost electronic key has already been used without authorization. The system log is essentially your digital key log. All access control events are recorded here. If the electronic key has already been used without authorization, please review the video evidence from the surveillance camera connected to the Monitoring System 100. Then delete or deactivate the affected electronic key.

Alternatively, you can deactivate the key's access rights and configure the Didactum Monitoring System to send an immediate email alert as soon as an unauthorized access attempt is made.

You can import the RFID card/electronic key into the Ethernet-based monitoring system in two ways:

Method: Manually reading the corresponding chip card/electronic key

To do this, click on "Access Control" in the web interface. Click on the "+" icon and add the new user ("Max Mustermann"). Enter the chip card key manually or add it using the "Read" command. Hold the RFID card or electronic key against the reader. The user's key will then be read automatically. By clicking "OK," the user and chip card will be registered in the monitoring system.

Method: Importing keys in SQLite format

If you have the key numbers of the RFID cards or electronic keys as a file (SQLite format), you can also import them into the monitoring

Please note that the Didactum monitoring system recognizes both card readers as a single unit. This is advantageous, for example, if one RFID reader is needed at the entrance and another RFID reader at the exit of the same door.

Every Didactum monitoring system supports the SNMP protocols v1, v2c, and v3 (encrypted). The MIB file required for integration into building management systems is loaded directly from the German-language web interface of the monitoring and control device.

As part of Didactum's Lifetime Support, regular firmware updates and kernel updates for the hardened Linux OS are provided for the smart measurement and control systems. These updates can be requested free of charge from support.

Each of our IP-based measurement and control systems is SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, and SNMPv3 compliant. In addition to relay switching, email and SMS sending, SNMP traps can also be sent to network monitoring software upon access to the data center.

Every networked infrastructure monitoring system operates independently of any other hardware or software. The system is configured and operated via a web browser (Google Chrome / Mozilla Firefox).

The electronic lock is connected to one of the 12V DC relay outputs of the monitoring system 50 / 100 (DC) / 200 / 300 / 400 / 500 (DC) / 600 (DC) / 700 (DC).

The second 12V DC relay output of the LAN-based monitoring system can signal authorized access to the intrusion detection system (IDS), which can then be switched accordingly.

All events related to the 24/7 access control of the Didactum Monitoring System can be found in the web interface under the menu item "Event Log". Here, all access control events, including date and time, are clearly listed.

Didactum's smart monitoring systems can send logs at regular intervals via email and FTP. If your monitoring system is equipped with an SD card reader (e.g., Monitoring Systems 400/500), the event log can be saved to an SD card with a capacity of up to 64 GB.

Alternatively, you can connect a USB flash drive. All monitoring systems also support a syslog server. The high-end infrastructure monitoring systems 600 and 700 offer optional integrated SSD or HDD storage with up to 1 TB of storage capacity. Of course, you can also manually download your digital key log, in the form of the event log, from the IP-based monitoring system and print it, for example.

In the event of threats or unauthorized access attempts, each monitoring system can also send silent alerts in the form of SNMP traps, email, or SMS messages. If you have connected a video security camera, the monitoring system will also send the current video via email, SMS, or FTP upload. The threat situation is also displayed in real time in the web interface.

A specific waiting time can be set for the lock connected to the monitoring system, so that it can be opened with a delay.

A connection for a code keypad on the 1-Wire port of the Didactum monitoring system is supported. Please note that Didactum cannot provide support for third-party products.

The built-in logic of the web interface of the smart monitoring devices allows for the definition of more than 500 rules and actions.

The web interface of the SNMP-based measurement and control system allows users to optionally define opening hours. For example, it can be specified that the server room may only be entered on weekdays from Monday to Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

In the system tree of the IT monitoring device, navigate to the "1-Wire" menu item and open it. Under "Initial State," the 1-Wire module must be set to "On." Afterward, the ID card reader connected to the 1-Wire module will function.
