Silent alarm for social welfare office and job center
A municipality requested that the offices of case workers in the social welfare office and job center be equipped with alarm systems. This was prompted by a series of tense situations in recent months, including isolated incidents of physical assault on employees. To address the potential threat to staff, the municipality decided to purchase a reliable alarm system.
A practical solution for triggering a silent alarm was found in the Didactum Security Monitoring System 500 II. A discreet emergency stop button was installed in the reception area and under each employee's desk. These buttons can be activated discreetly, either by hand or with a knee.
The emergency stop buttons were connected to the potential-free input contacts of the Monitoring 500 II alarm system using inexpensive two-wire cables. Each contact was individually named (Office 1, Ground Floor; Office 10, 1st Floor; etc.). Alarm notifications via email and/or SMS were customized using the integrated Didactum macro function.
In critical situations, the responsible security personnel are immediately alerted by the alarm system via email and SMS, enabling them to intervene and de-escalate the situation in a timely manner. By connecting an expansion module for up to 64 digital/potential-free input contacts, the alarm system is also equipped to meet future requirements.
