Network routing of the Didactum monitoring systems

Static routes are intended for traffic that should not be routed through the default gateway. They can also be used to add routes to connect devices to other networks.

To access the routing settings for Didactum network thermo-hygrometers, PDUs, and monitoring systems, please go to the "Routing" tab in the "System Settings" menu. If static routes are needed, they can be added to the routing table using "ip route add".

To add a static route to a host address (a single IP address), enter "10.8.2.125" under "ip route add" and then "10.8.2.1" (without quotation marks) to the right of "via".

To add a static route to a network (an IP address representing a range of IP addresses), enter "192.168.1.0/24" under "ip route add" and then "192.168.1.115" under "via". Here, "192.168.1.0" represents the IP address of the target network and "/24" represents the network prefix.

Note: For your routing settings to take effect, you must restart the network thermometer or monitoring system! The routing addresses specified under "Routing" will be applied after each system restart. These addresses are also recorded in the log file of the monitoring system/network thermometer. Here you will find, among other things, possible error messages when the monitoring system routes traffic to other networks.

Traceroot functions of the monitoring systems

Starting with the December 2021 firmware update, the networked measurement and control systems from manufacturer Didactum are equipped with a Traceroute function. Traceroute is a network diagnostics tool. It displays possible routes (paths) and is used to measure and analyze packet loss within a network.

Enter the desired IP address in the "Address" field of the Traceroot Tool and click the "Start" button. If the results take a long time to appear, please click "Refresh." Clicking the "Start" button again will restart the process.
