Restoring the monitoring system to factory settings
Important Note: This guide applies exclusively to the following Didactum measurement and monitoring systems:
- Monitoring System 50
- Monitoring System 100 II / 100 III / 100T
- Monitoring System 300 / 300 PoE
- Monitoring System 500 II / 500 II DC
Please note that resetting to factory settings will permanently erase all settings and measurement data.
To reset your SNMP monitoring hardware to factory settings, please proceed as follows:
Check that the system is powered on. The "ACT" LED on the front panel must be illuminated.
On the back of the system, you will find a labeled DIP switch. Using the tip of a ballpoint pen, please move the DIP switch from "Normal" to "Recovery".
After a few seconds, the red "ERR" LED will illuminate. Now, set the DIP switch back to the "Normal" position. The system will now initiate an automatic restart.
After the restart, the "ACT" LED will light up again as usual. The system is back in its original factory default state.
Access the system via a web browser (Google Chrome / Mozilla Firefox). The default IP address is "192.168.0.193" (without quotation marks). The default username is "guest" and the default password is "guest" (without quotation marks).
If necessary, reload the backup file named "settings.zor" under "System Menu" => "Firmware".
Editor's Note: To initiate the recovery process, you must set the DIP switch from "Recovery" back to "Normal" while the "Error" LED on the front of the SNMP monitoring hardware is flashing. If you waited too long, the "Error" LED will light up continuously after about 20-30 seconds. In this case, simply set the DIP switch back to "Normal". The recovery process has not been initiated!
