Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU support

In general, all current Web thermometers and IT cabinet monitoring systems from the Didactum brand support the following protocols:

a.) Modbus RTU (read / write)
and
b.) Modbus TCP / IP (read / write)

The following measurement & monitoring systems are delivered with an integrated RS‑485 Modbus RTU interface as standard:

  • Didactum Monitoring System 300
  • Didactum Monitoring System 300 PoE

For the following devices & systems, an internal RS‑485 Modbus RTU module is available as an optional add‑on:

  • Didactum Monitoring System 50
  • Didactum Monitoring System 100 & 100 DC (48V DC)
  • Didactum Monitoring System 500 & 500 DC (48V DC)

The following Web thermometers & monitoring systems support the optional RS485 USB adapter:

  • Didactum Monitoring System 50
  • Didactum Monitoring System 100 & 100 DC (48V DC)
  • Didactum Monitoring System 500 & 500 DC (48V DC)

The following long‑discontinued Didactum products support NEITHER the Modbus‑RTU nor the Modbus‑TCP protocol:

  • Didactum Monitoring System 100 (1st generation)
  • Didactum Monitoring System 100 II
  • Didactum Monitoring System 500 & 500 DC (1st generation)

Note: Please note that the Modbus‑TCP protocol is only supported starting with firmware version “Didactum‑2.8.3 b333” (08/2021)! If an older firmware is installed on your cabinet monitoring system, please request the latest release free of charge from support.
