The rechargeable battery is an expansion module that ensures the uninterrupted operation of Didactum monitoring devices during power outages. It charges while the main power supply is active and automatically takes over as backup power when the input voltage drops. Once power is restored, the charging process begins, ensuring the batteries are always ready for use.
Compatible with monitoring systems such as the 500T, 550T, and PDU 4T, it provides reliable backup power to maintain system functionality and prevent monitoring interruptions. Ideal for monitoring critical IT infrastructures and buildings.

LED indicator of the module
- "Progress" – The LED indicates whether the battery is charging.
- "Completed" – The LED indicates whether the battery is fully charged.
- "Power Supply" – The LED indicates whether the power supply is providing voltage for charging the batteries.
Installation in a 550T
The power supply connections may vary depending on the Didactum system and the ordered options. This example only explains the general functional principle.
Description: Power supply lines.
| # | Power supply |
|---|---|
| 1,2,3 |
These power supply lines are equivalent. The main PCB of Didactum is equipped with 3 power supply lines. If all three power supply lines are connected and active at the same time, the system selects the input with the highest voltage. Normally, each of these lines supplies the system with 11 V. The power switch occurs instantly. |
| 4 | 4. 9 V DC The backup battery is charged via power supply line 1. The system only falls back to the backup battery if power supply lines 1, 2, and 3 fail (power outage). |
Step 1
a) Unscrew x2 countersink screws at the panel named “Battery extension slot” located at the back of the monitoring system case.
b) take the panel out.
Step 2
Insert the batteries into the VT-ACCU board.
Only rechargeable batteries may be used.
Size: 14500 AA
Voltage: 3.7 V
Type: Lithium-ion
Step 3
Press the battery casing with its legs into the recesses on the circuit board.
Step 4
Slide the battery compartment onto the circuit board until it clicks into place.
Step 5
Attach the module to the plate we unscrewed in step one using the two M3 screws.
Step 6
a) Insert the assembly into the monitoring system's slot labeled "Battery Expansion Slot."
b) Secure the cover to the housing using the two countersunk screws you received in step 1.
