In the web interface of the network monitoring system, please go to "System settings" => "SNMP" and check the box "Enable SNMP". Then, please click the floppy disk icon (top right) to save the settings permanently. Afterwards, your network monitoring software should immediately detect the Didactum monitoring hardware, including the smart sensors.
Didactum's IP-based monitoring and alarm systems support the SNMP V1, SNMP V2c, and encrypted SNMP V3 network protocols. SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is an essential component of the globally widespread TCP/IP protocol. With SNMP support, critical performance, status, and measurement data can be remotely collected and monitored around the clock. In the event of critical conditions or errors, Didactum SNMP monitoring hardware can proactively notify and alert you. You can also control network-enabled devices and systems using SNMP.
Each of the SNMPv1/v2c/v3 compatible measuring and monitoring devices offers automatic notification and alarm functions as part of SNMP Get queries. Additionally, actuators, such as relay switching, are also supported by the SNMP monitoring hardware.
To create an SNMP Get element in the IT monitoring system, please go to the "System Tree" entry and then click on the "+" symbol (top right). A new window will open called "Add a new element". Select either SNMP Get (analog) or SNMP Get (discrete).
Video capture is supported by the Didactum monitoring systems. This is done via an SNMP Set Request. To do this, please write the string "1" (without quotation marks) into the OID identifier .1.3.6.1.4.1.39052.4.1.1.7.403001.
The reference OIDs for the field values remain the same for all Didactum sensors of the same class! A specific sensor is referenced by its ID at the end of the OID.
Example Didactum analog sensors:
.1.3.3.6.1.4.1.46501.1.3.1.5.201001 - here, the sensor class is "analog"
.1.3.3.6.1.4.1.46501.1.3.1.6.201001 - here, the sensor type is "temperature"
.1.3.3.6.1.4.1.46501.1.3.1.7.201001 - designation "Onboard Temperature Sensor".
.1.3.3.6.1.4.1.46501.1.3.1.8.201001 - Status "normal"
.1.3.3.6.1.4.1.46501.1.3.1.9.201001 - Current value "35.41".
etc.
Simply view the Didactum MIB file in an MIB browser.
The sensor ID for sensors that the user links or creates may not be sequential (e.g., if a sensor has been removed).
These parameters can be set via SNMP in any SNMP browser. These are standard fields commonly available for OIDs.
Available (read and write):
.iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.system.sysContact (.1.3.6.1.2.1.1.4)
.iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.system.sysName (.1.3.6.1.2.1.1.5)
.iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.system.sysLocation (.1.3.6.1.2.1.1.6)
You can find the Didactum MIB in the web interface under System Settings => SNMP. Simply click on didactum.mib and it will be automatically loaded from the monitoring system.
