Time synchronization IT monitoring system

Every Didactum LAN-based measuring and monitoring device is equipped with an integrated hardware clock. To ensure consistently accurate timekeeping, regular synchronization with an external NTP time server is recommended. The time settings can be found in the device's German web interface under "System settings" => "Time".

The following menu items are displayed in the web GUI:

  • "Now": Clicking the "Now" button displays the current date and device time.
  • "Device Time Zone": Please select the time zone applicable to your region. For Germany, we select the time zone "UTC+1:00 Germany, France, Italy, Norway".
  • "Daylight Saving Time Adjustment": Here you can manually enter the date and time for daylight saving time.
  • "Country Presets": Select "Germany" to have the start and end dates of daylight saving time automatically applied.
  • "Automatically Synchronize Time": Here you can define the interval for automatic time synchronization (once an hour / once a day / once a week / once a month).
  • "Main NTP Server for Time Synchronization": Enter the desired NTP (Network Time Protocol) server here. For example, select Google's public NTP server, "time.google.com".
  • "Secondary NTP server for time synchronization": Here you can enter another NTP server for time synchronization. We select "1.europe.pool.ntp.org".

Note: The time zone set in the measuring and monitoring device must match the time zone of your operating system/network. Clicking the "floppy disk icon" permanently saves the selected time settings of your IT monitoring system.
