Didactum firmware update via web interface

Firmware updates for Didactum infrastructure monitoring devices in the 50/100 IV (DC) / 500 II (DC) series can also be performed via the web interface.

Note: If an older firmware version, such as "2.7.1.-b1750," is installed on your Didactum monitoring system, the update should be performed using the Firmware Update Tool for Windows. For installation via the web interface, firmware version "2.7.2.-b169" (or higher) must be installed on your monitoring system. Always follow the instructions and guidelines included in the firmware file. Further information on firmware can be found in our FAQs.

Before the IT monitoring system update

Use only Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Apple Safari as your web browser. Before every update, please always back up your monitoring system configuration, the syslog, and the measurement data stored in the data logger!

To do this, go to the "System Menu" in the web interface and select the "Export" tab. Here you can back up the measurement data, log files, and device configuration.

Free firmware package

The latest firmware and related instructions for your monitoring system are available in the Didactum Knowledge Base.

After downloading, please extract the ZIP file. In the "Firmware and Kernel" directory, you will find several files with the extension ".zor".

For updating via the web interface, you will need the following files:

firmware.zor

firmware-kernel.zor

Technical Note: When updating the firmware via the web interface, please do not download the files "didactum-2.8.x-bxxx.zor" or "didactum-2.8.x-bxxx.bin". These are only required for a complete firmware reinstall using the Firmware Update Tool for Windows.

Kernel update of the hardened Linux OS

If Didactum support recommends a kernel update of the hardened Linux operating system, please first upload the file "firmware-kernel.zor" to your IT monitoring system.
